“Fair to Good overall vint cond: Considering this late 19th-early 20th cent black slate, ruled, hand-held, elementary school chalkboard is between 120-130 yrs old, it would have to be considered to still be in relatively well-preserved overall vint cond. It has a bit of slate stone loss on one of its corners but the slate stone is still intact & doesn"t suffer from any more significant gouges, chips, fractures or old repairs. The small size of the slate & its ship lapped pine wooden frame combined, seems to have largely prevented the stone from splitting or cracking over the yrs it was used & handled. This American real black slate chalkboard, still has the white dust of school chalk embedded in the scribed ruled lines found on the front & back of this 2-sided chalkboard, that would have assisted & helped young students w/their budding writing skills. The chalkboard is clearly well used & one of the corners of the pine frame has some wood loss. Exceptional. Authentic. Original. Great.”
