Size of plate: c. 9.5 x 13.8 inches. in very good condition. || Los disparates, or Proverbios is a series of etchings by Francisco de Goya, created between 1815 and 1823 (when Goya left Spain), while the artist lived near Manzares. This series has not been published while the artist was still alive, due to the oppressive political climate, as well as the ongoing Inquisiton. The prints" subjects range from political issue, traditional Spanish proverbs and sayings, and the Spanish carnival.
